Colonial Instruments, Inc. is a stocking wholesale distributor of pressure, temperature, level and flow instruments. We represent most of the major manufactures in the industry and can meet all of your needs for any brand.

What separates us from others in our industry is our service oriented approach and value added services. Often times we see our competition providing quotations with vague descriptions like “Gauge, 100psi, 4.5 1/4 NPT”.  We eliminate the need for guess work, by providing extremely detailed product descriptions on our quotes, so you can be clear what you’re getting. Furthermore, we regularly provide custom product assembly sketches and full submittal packages for our customers, cutting down on the amount of work they need to do, and giving them a visual representation of the final product.

We pride ourselves on providing you with outstanding service and strive to exceed your expectations. Like our motto says… We Go The Extra Mile, It’s Never Crowded!..

Colonial Instruments Office

Humble Beginnings

Colonial Instruments, Inc. is started as a spin off from the former Seeley & Jones, in Bridgeport, CT. The company is solely focused on the sale of low cost commercial pressure gauges for HVAC and OEM markets.

New Headquarters

Brian Carmona purchases Colonial Instruments in Bridgeport, CT and reincorporates in New Hampshire as Colonial Instruments, Inc. at our current Nashua, NH location. The focus of the company shifts from commercial pressure gauges to more industrial instrumentation. At the new location a small repair and service shop for filling diaphragm seal products and NIST Calibration Services are implemented.

The company launches the first version of the website colonialgauges.com and first iteration of the current company logo.

Colonial Instruments takes on more space at it’s current location, moving from a shared office/warehouse/shop are into a dedicated office area and has grown from one full time employee, Brian Carmona, to four employees.

Rotary Engraved Tag Business Lauches

Colonial Instruments purchases it’s first rotary engraving machine and begins making custom stainless steel, pheonolic and acrylic tags. Demand quickly grows and the company lands some large orders.

Digital Pressure Calibration

Colonial Instruments moves from analog 0.25% accuracy test gauges to a new state of the art DHI (Fluke) PPC4 precision digital pressure calibrator /controller with an accuracy of ±0.01% on pressures up to 1,000 PSI. The company quickly lands several high profile calibration projects, including a Shire Pharmaceutical project, calibrating hundreds of pressure instruments

Upgrade to Laser Etching

Colonial Instruments switches from rotary engraved tags to laser etched tags. The addition of Gravograph LS100 Laser Etching Machine also gives the ability to custom engrave on a wider variety of products, including thermowells, pressure gauges, larger custom nameplates and other products. The laser etching business continues to grow.

Temperature Calibration Capabilities Added

Colonial Instruments expands calibration capabilities to include temperature calibration. The Metrology Lab utilizes Fluke Primary Reference Standards having Accuracies of 0.05°C (0.09°F) across a Temperature Range of -20°C to 300°C (-4°F to 572°F). State of the art Fluke Model 6330 and Model 7320 Compact Temperature Calibration Baths with Stability and uniformity each better than ± 0.008 °C.

Continued Growth

Colonial Instruments launches the latest version of it’s website. The company now has 6 full time employees and continues to grow, in both size and sales. The focus of the company has dramatically shifted over the last 20+ years and most of products now sold are higher end instrumentation for the industrial, process, and pharmaceutical markets. The service sector of the business has grown as demand for diaphragm seal products, custom tag and etching and calibration has increased and continues to increase. The latest up grade to the calibration lab is a new Fluke 6270A calibrator / controller which has added much needed capacity.

New Office Expansion

Colonial Instruments expanded and added an additional 1,200 square foot dedicated office and reception area.
